Callie
Despite being around one year old, Mimi is the “grandma” of the group. Spiritually strong, this sweet girl was the leader of her pack. Mimi is being treated for heartworm disease, which has likely caused a slightly enlarged pulmonary artery. We are monitoring her closely to provide the treatments she needs to be comfortable and eventually, make a full recovery.
Callie was found laying in a pile of trash, with an open wound between her eyes. Our dedicated Shelter Medicine Team is giving her the care she needs to be healthy, strong, and adoptable very soon.
These 2-week old puppies were found trapped under a trailer on the property. They are currently in a foster home, being bottle-fed and receiving around-the-clock care.
Please, donate today to help provide the immediate care, love, and safety they’ve been denied for so long.
Update as of September 24, 2024:
When we were contacted about a heartbreaking situation at a property where dogs and puppies were suffering, our Animal Protection Unit deployed to bring them to safety.
We were able to rescue 10 adult dogs and 8 vulnerable puppies.
These innocent dogs were living among filth, battling fleas, ticks, and open wounds—struggling just to survive. They are safe now but they are still in desperate need of medical care, and they need it now.
Please, donate today to help provide the immediate care, love, and safety they’ve been denied for so long.
September 19, 2024:
We are facing an emergency.
Our team is deploying to Dade County on Monday, where countless animals are living in heartbreaking conditions. But with our shelter already at full capacity, we cannot bring these animals back into our care without your help.
We urgently need foster families to step up and take in animals already in our care to free up space—or to sign up to foster these newly rescued animals.

If you can’t foster, please make a donation so we can continue to be there for animals who need us the most.
